Athletes are real superheroes. They jump, swim, run, and can do whatnot. But behind the scenes of those are quite not what we expect. It takes the year and in fact loads of years to pull off what they smoothly do while performing.

1. Mary Kom – Losing 2 Kilos in 4 hours for an event
Mary Kom was competing in a 47-kilo boxing event. When her weight was measured it was 2 kilos more than what was estimated. To lose those 2 kilos Mary Kom told in an interview that she skipped for an hour stretch and she was ready to go.
2. When Usain Bolt’s Diet Was Based On Chicken Nuggets, French Fries, And Apple Pies.
Back in 2008 when Usain Bolt bagged 3 Olympic Gold medals, his diet was revealed and it was of, 100 chicken nuggets, french fries and apple pies. When the nutritionist got to know this, they were naturally bewildered and very surprised to know as to how was that even possible for an athlete to perform that well, after the joke of a diet.
3. Cristiano Ronaldo prefers to take 5, 90 mins power nap instead of 7-8 hours of sleep in one go.
Which according to him helps in better concentration and maintaining energy.
4. Lewis Hamilton made a food place in Hong Kong to deliver food for him in Japan
Lewis Hamilton, converted to vegan a few years back. Once when he had a event to participate in Japan, he found out a place which makes vegan burgers in Hong Kong. Just because he doesn’t like cheat days, he made the food place deliver food for him in Japan.
“I found a vegan burger in Hong Kong and had them send burgers to me in Japan, where I ate them every day.”
5. Michael Phelps trainer, Bob Bowman used to take him to Colorado Springs for practice before Olympics. It was because in lower altitude it’ll be difficult to breathe, hence better for the trainee to retain the performance.
When it comes to Phelp’s diet back then, it consisted of eggs, french toast and coffee for all three meals. All he did was eat, sleep and practice those days.
6. Mirabai Chanu ate ‘Nothing’ two days before her match
Two days before Mirabai’s match she supposedly ate ‘nothing’ and for 2 years during her practice she did not eat home food. After winning her medal, she had homemade food for the first time when she returned India.

7. Virat Kohli used to drink imported water from France
Virat Kohli used to drink imported water, which costed him ₹600 per bottle. The water was labelled as completely natural, and he used to consume it to stabilize things in his body so that his practice doesn’t get hampered.
