The release of The Family Man Season 3 on Amazon Prime Video sparked a plethora of responses, speculations, and discussions on social media. Manoj Bajpayee portrays Srikant Tiwari masterfully once more as he balances emotional turmoil with professional chaos. TASC suffers internal divisions, government involvement grows, and two fascinating antagonists, Jaideep Ahlawat’s character Rukma and Nimrat Kaur’s character Meera, push him to his limit. His family is struggling to survive amid the stress, with his children becoming more distressed and his wife becoming more distant.
Even while the season featured intense political intrigue and high-stakes action, many fans believe the finale might have been even better with one small change. Both critics and viewers feel that a small change in the finale’s resolve could have produced the ideal combination of tension, emotion, and closure, making the conclusion genuinely unforgettable. Here is what it is:

The cliffhanger in the last episode left viewers hanging
Season 3 consisted of just seven episodes, in contrast to the previous seasons’ ten and nine episodes, respectively. Even though there was a lot of drama in the episodes, the tale had to rush toward a climax due to the short season, which left some plot lines unsolved. With both Srikant Tiwari and Rukma suffering serious injuries, the last episode concluded with a dramatic cliffhanger, building suspense for the upcoming season.
Over the course of the season, Jaideep Ahlawat’s portrayal of Rukma had grown more nuanced and relatable, making his conflict with Srikant more than just a physical altercation. However, the decision to end Season 3 on such a dramatic cliffhanger left fans feeling frustrated.
The tension between Srikant and Rukma could have been perfectly wrapped up within one more episode. By the finale, the pace was rushed, and some of the emotional beats, especially those involving Srikant’s family and the other supporting characters, were not given the weight they deserved. The season seemed to set up a potential fourth season more than tie up the ongoing arcs in a satisfying way.

One more episode could have made the whole 3rd season perfect
Adding one more episode to the show could have solved many problems. It would have given the makers more breathing space; they could have shown the confrontation between Srikant and Rukma at a proper pace and given closure to characters like Meera, Dhriti, and Srikant’s family. For a long time, The Family Man was loved for how it tied up its ends of stories at the end of each season, and this rushed ending broke that tradition.

The battle between Srikant and Rukma that will now be carried over into the next season could have been resolved or at least furthered within a single episode. A few extra minutes could have addressed all the loose ends while preserving the high-stakes drama of the season. However, instead of this, viewers are left to wait for answers that could have been delivered immediately.

While anticipation for Season 4 might be great for some, the fact that Season 3 didn’t give some sense of closure is almost a wasted opportunity. It could have provided fans with the payoff they needed to truly round out the season. One additional 45–50 minute episode might have made the difference between “good but flawed” and memorable.
