Here are some of the incidents in the cricket history of sledding!

1. Hit me if you can! (Sachin Tendulkar and Abdul Qadir)

Sachin Tendulkar has been receiving a lot of sleds, but a player like him has always let his bat do the talking on his behalf. The most famous was from his earlier matches against Pakistan which was his debut against Pakistan.

The first match of the India and Pakistan ODI series in 1989-90 was scheduled on the 15th of December at Peshawar. But, due to poor light, they had to cancel the official match. Seeing the crowd and people’s excitement both the country decided mutually to have an exhibition match of 20 overs, where Pakistan chose to bat first and made 157 runs. Sachin, who is always in the form, hit two sixes in an over against hit spinner, Mushtaq Ahmed.

Abdul Qadir who is a veteran cricketer and Mushtaq’s mentor said,

“Bachchon ko Kyun mar rahe ho? Hamein maar ke dikhao. (Why are you thrashing kids? Slash me, if you can.)”

To which Sachin replied very politely through his bat by hitting (6, 0, 4, 6, 6, 6 ) in his over.

Though India was on a shortage of 4 runs and lost the match, that incident will be remembered by everyone throughout their lifetime.

Anderson, who is the highest wicket-taker of the series did not miss an opportunity and he cleaned bowled Ryan in the very next ball. You know the best way to reply is to perform and that is exactly what Anderson did. But it wasn’t over yet.
