8 Royals And Their Truly Disgusting Habits Through History

Published: Updated: 4 minutes read

It is truly said that power makes you senile, not only that, power makes you weird, twisted, disturbing and disgusting. Read below and find out for yourself how the Royals from the past have proved this phrase.

1. Nero, the Roman emperor, killed his wife and also executed his mother.

This does not end here. Clearly, The guy was really weird. He executed his mother because she was interfering in his business and apparently he killed his wife as well. Then he married his step-sister Octavia, later he executed her as well. Then he married a woman named Sabrina and killed her too. Though he still loved her so he allegedly married a slave who resembled the woman he loved.

2. Vlad III or Vlad the Impaler. Fact- He is the one on whom Dracula- the famous character is based. Vlad was known as the son of Dracul.

He would never expect that he would inspire literature and cinema with his awfulness. But, guess what? Here we are! He called his enemies over the ‘dialogue’ and then killed them. Later, he would put their bodies upon spikes so that others could see.

3.Tsar Paul from Russia

This guy was so much dedicated towards the military, that if their uniforms were not up to the mark he used to get armymen beaten. And from his up to mark he meant absolutely perfect, which is one difficult task in Prussian-style coats that he wanted everyone to wear. Later, he was murdered.

4. In Spain, the Royal families used to sleep with the body parts or with the entire corpses of the saints when they fell sick.

At the time when medical science was not that advanced, even a simple cold and cough would be considered life-threatening. In that case, royal family members dragged out the corpses of saints believing that God will be merciful if they do that.

5. King Charles II, was a special kind of weird!

This really came as a shocker, and it is quite weird. When he made love to a woman he collected some of her pubic hair and stitched them into a wig. This doesn’t end here, he donated this wig to a club from where it was stolen and then they started some other club where people came and kissed the thing.

King George IV was so much inspired by this that he started doing the same but he failed to do so because he died before collecting enough hair.

6. Queen Maria Eleonora was so much in love with her husband that when he died, she ordered him to take his heart out and be kept in a golden box above her head.

This was just a part of her mourning period though, not only herself, she insisted her daughter as to well sleep with her so that she could feel his presence. It is weird to know why people were so obsessed with body parts.

7. French King Louis XIV was weird in his way as well.

He had a toilet seat under his throne and he used it while addressing the court. Moreover, he is the one who took bath only thrice in his lifetime but changed his clothes 3 times a day, and he made his people make a new perfume for him every week.

8. King Henry VIII, literally started the tradition of “groom of the stool”.

Isn’t it weird? I mean obviously, the tradition where a person was appointed in order to look after someone’s bowel movement, excretion and other things. The appointed groom would help the king undress and then clean up his mess. The king was actually proud of this initiative and honestly, this was desired in the years to come.
