For many students, just being admitted to IIT is a dream come true. IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology) are a prominent institution, with big international firms and organisations lining up to employ its graduates. There was no doubt a large number of students who went on to achieve success in their chosen areas and make India proud.

1. Parag Agrawal – CEO, Twitter
Twitter’s new CEO is Parag Agrawal. He was admitted to IIT Bombay’s computer science department after scoring 77th rank in the IIT joint admission examinations. Parag began his career at Twitter as a software engineer in 2011 and was promoted to Chief Technology Officer in October 2017.
2. Nandan Nilekani – Non-Executive Chairman, Infosys
Nandan Nilekani is one of IIT-most Bombay’s well-known graduates. He is one of Infosys’ founding members. Nandan Nilekani graduated from IIT-Bombay with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He is the non-executive chairman of Infosys at the moment.

3. Parul Gupta – Co-founder & President of Springboard
Parul Gupta is the President of Springboard, a learning platform that offers an alternative to the traditional educational system. She graduated from IIT-Bombay with a degree in electrical engineering and served on the Executive Board of the IIT Bombay Alumni Association.
4. Kailasavadivoo Sivan – ISRO Chairman
For his contributions to the construction of cryogenic engines for India’s space programme, K Sivan is known as ‘Rocket Mani.’ He is a well-known Tamil Nadu scientist who led the Chandrayaan 2 Mission. IIT-Bombay awarded K Sivan a doctorate in aerospace engineering.
5. Sarita Adve – Professor at University of Illinois
Sarita Adve graduated from IIT-Bombay with a B. Tech in electrical engineering. She is most recognised for her work on multiprocessor memory consistency models, memory system performance, hardware reliability, and power management, among other things.

6. Bhavish Aggarwal – Co-founder, Ola Cabs
Bhavish Aggarwal is another well-known IIT-Bombay alumnus. He attended the institute to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering. Bhavish was also named one of Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People.
7. Vipul Goyal – Indian comedian
Vipul is presently a stand-up comedian who also starred in the online series Humorously Yours as the lead character. He went to IIT Bombay to study Electrical Engineering.
8. Nitesh Tiwari – Indian film director
Nitesh Tiwari is a director and writer. He is recognised for films such as Dangal and Chillar Party, among others. IIT Bombay awarded him a B. Tech degree in Metallurgical Engineering.
9. Viral Acharya – Professor of Economics
Viral Acharya is a former Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India and an Indian economist. From the institute, he earned a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering.
10. Udaya Kumar – Indian designer
IIT Bombay also produced the designer of the Indian rupee symbol. He earned his PhD in design from IIT Bombay’s Industrial Design Centre. Udaya is the Head of the Design Department of IIT Guwahati in Assam.

11. Manohar Parrikar – Former Defence Minister of India
Manohar Parrikar, who died recently, was also an IIT-Bombay graduate. From the institute, he studied metallurgical engineering. Manohar Parrikar was a four-time Goa Chief Minister and India’s former Defense Minister.
