Actor Hrithik Roshan is one of the most successful stars in the industry. Despite being a star kid, he proved that he is here because of his hard work. The actor made his Bollywood debut with Kaho Na… Pyaar Hai and made a place in our hearts. After some flops, he finally rose to fame with Koi… Mil Gaya and Krrish. He didn’t look back and went on to become part of some successful films. He made our hearts skip a beat as a sexy thief in Dhoom 2 and impressed us as in Jodha Akbar.

However, there were some hit films that Hrithik rejected, have a look:

1. Swades– 2004

Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Lagaan went to Oscars and every actor wanted to work with him. He approached Hrithik for Swadesh but the actor was busy with his film schedule. The director thought that Hrithik was perfect to play Mohan Bhargava. Later, Shah Rukh Khan played the role. The movie became a cult and people still love to watch it.

2. Bunty Aur Babli– 2005

Before Dhoom 2, Hrithik was approached for Bunty Aur Babli. He thought that he was not the right fit for the role and recommended Abhishek Bachchan. The film went on to become a big hit.

3. Rang De Basanti– 2006

Even now, it is considered as one of the finest films of Bollywood. The star cast includes Aamir Khan, Soha Ali Khan, Sharman Joshi, and more. Many big names of the industry were approached to be its part. Hrithik was offered one of the main roles except for DJ. However, he turned it down as he was busy shooting for Krrish.

4. Dil Chahta Hai– 2001

Farhan Akhtar’s film was way ahead of the time. It was a breath of fresh air. Aamir Khan loved the script and even convinced Saif Ali Khan for the movie. However, the role of Sid was offered to Hrithik. Later, Akshaye Khanna played the part and impressed everyone.

5. Main Hoon Na– 2004

Farah Khan wanted Hrithik to play Shah Rukh’s younger brother in the film. Hrithik rejected the role stating that he doesn’t want to do repetitive roles. He took the name of Zayed Khan.

6. Pink Panther 2– 2009

Hrithik and Aishwarya’s pair was loved by the audience after the super success of Dhoom 2. They worked in Jodha Akbar and Guzaarish as well. Hrithik couldn’t do Pink Panther 2 as he was busy with other films.

7. Shhuddhi

It is one of the most anticipated projects of Dharma. More details of the film are yet to be known but speculations are rife about the cast. Hrithik and Kareena were approached for the movie but they turned it down. Later, the movie was offered to Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone.

8. Hindi Remake of I

Vikram starrer I was a huge success in Tollywood. In the Hindi remake, the makers wanted Hrithik to play the lead. It is being said that superstar Mahesh Babu will make his debut with this film.

9. Fast and Furious

Rob Cohen, the director of the Fast and Furious franchise confessed that he is a big fan of Hrithik. He even wanted him to be a part of the franchise. However, Hrithik chose to be in Bollywood only.

10. Hamlet Adaptation by Tigmanshu Dhulia

He wanted Hrithik to play the lead in this project. Onir and Vishal Bhardwaj already made Hamlet Adaptation. Shahid Kapoor starrer Haider became a huge success and the actor even won awards for his performance. Hrithik turned down the project and later Tigmanshu also changed his mind and drop the idea.
