Jackie Shroff on tiger Being Compared To Kareena Kapoor

Veteran actor Jackie Shroff feels proud when people call him Tiger Shroff’s father. The fact that Tiger carved his own path and became “the youngest action star” by the time he turned 26, also makes him happy.

When Tiger Shroff made his Bollywood debut with Heropanti, he was judged by many netizens over his look. There had been a number of memes on Tiger Shroff’s beardless look and all of them in contrast his face to Kareena Kapoor Khan. Some even compared his face with Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Whereas Tiger by no means misplaced his cool over any meme. He has managed to champion all that over the years, delivering noteworthy performances in films like Baaghi, Student of the Year 2 and War. His dad Jackie Shroff has one thing to say to trolls about his actor-son.

Jackie Shroff, for the first time, addressed the nepotism debate and spoke about the same. In an interview with Times of India he said,

“We hear of nepotism in Bollywood, that star kids become actors because of their parents. That’s a bigger challenge for them. Tiger had the burden of expectations from my 220 movies on his shoulders. He had to get out of his dad’s shadow.”

Further comparing his journey with his son Tiger’s, Jackie added,

“His father is an actor so there will be constant comparisons. My father was an astrologer so people had no expectations from me. Of course it wasn’t easy for me either. In 80s we had Bachchan sahab, Vinod Khanna, Dharmendra so I was lucky that I was even accepted and I hit the jackpot right in my first film Hero (1983). Every generation has its own challenges.”

Jackie Shroff also slammed the trolls who have criticized his son and actor Tiger Shroff’s looks. The veteran actor said,

“About this whole macho macho comparison, he is young. He is still growing. He is a cub for God’s sake and he is getting there. Also, I am glad that he does not look like what people expect him to. Matlab Jackie ka bachcha hai toh daadhi ke saath hi pait se bahar aayega kya? (Being Jackie Shroff’s son doesn’t mean he’ll be born with a beard.)”

On how trolls have flooded the internet with memes comparison him to Kareena Kapoor Khan. He said,

“Being compared to Kareena! Haha, so cute. And you should see his replies to those comparisons and memes. He was cool with it. He knew his action well, so he knew that he looked like a Tiger when he fought on-screen or danced. It’s tough for a guy to dance well when he is good at action. But he does both well.”

Earlier, Tiger Shroff also reacted to the trolls who said that he looks like a woman while he appeared on Arbaaz Khan’s show Pinch 2. He said,

“I recognize from the time my first movie turned into launched human beings stated ‘ye Ladka hai ya Ladki’, human beings commented on my face and stated I appear like a female. And then they see my body! A phase of humans loves me for my movement scenes and so forth. So long as love is coming in for me from my enthusiasts, I’m ok. I have decided to make my very own space in Bollywood, I’ve selected a separate path for myself. Whilst you attempt to create something of your personal, there are hurdles however I take it on.”

Tiger went on to add,

“In terms of trolling, it’s miles at times frightening how a nameless, faceless person may want to say something approximately all people without getting caught!”
