8 Prominent Personalities From India Who Died In Air Crashes

Sad day for any Indian after we get the news that we lost a badge holder Army personality, General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madulika Rawat, and 12 other people from the Indian Armed Force due to a helicopter crash. The accident happened somewhere in a village near Tamil Nadu. There were fourteen people on board and from those thirteen people died due to the helicopter crash. The captain of the group Captain Varun Singh was the only one who survived the crash and is not under critical treatment provided in the hospital.

There were a lot of similar accidents which have happened in the past where he lost some very important personalities of the country.

1. Subhas Chandra Bose

Subhas Chandra Bose death is still under speculation and very controversial, it is believed the helicopter he was traveling in crashed somewhere near Taiwan back in 1945.

2. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy

Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister’s helicopter crashed in a forest while he was in it. After the helicopter went missing for about 27 hours, his body was found, dead. This incident happened back in 2009.

3. Sanjay Gandhi

Indira Gandhi’s younger son, Sanjay Gandhi died back in 1980. He was in a glider, flying and it crashed after it took off from the Safdarjung Airport, Delhi.

4. Madhavrao Scindia

The senior congress leader, Madhavaro Scindia passed away due to a crash of the aircraft he was flying in back in the year 2001. To attend a rally he was traveling to Kanpur and that’s when the accident took place, leading to a heinous loss.

5. G. M. C. Balayogi

The famous Lok Sabha speaker and the leader of Telugu Desam died the same way. In 2002 G.M.C Balayogi was traveling in a helicopter and it crashed in Andhra Pradesh, which led to his death.

6. O.P Jindal

The one who so much name and power, died the same way as well. Near Saharanpur in 2005 he was in an aircraft, but due to a technical error the craft went down and it not only killed him but also the agriculture minister Surendra Singh present in the same vehicle.

7. Surendra Nath

The governor of Punjab and his family died when the aircraft they were in crashed into the mountain and none of the family members could be saved. This incident happened back in 1994 in Himachal Pradesh and it lead to the death of eight people present in the aircraft.

8. Dorjee Khandu

Arunachal’s Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu was found dead when the helicopter he used for traveling went missing. After five days it went missing, his body was found near the China border in 2011.

9. Bipin Rawat

General Bipin Rawat, his wife and twelve other army members died due to a helicopter crash. This happened on 8th December 2021, the plane crashed near Tamil Nadu. Out of the fourteen present one is found alive and is undergoing cure.
