Doctor Advice To Guy Who Works 16 Hours

It doesn’t come as a surprise that corporate workers are worked endlessly with pay not matching their efforts. No wonder corporate employees are often referred to as ‘corporate slaves’. Being employed in the corporate sector entails working for insanely long hours. With the same pay, employees are expected and made to do the work meant for 2-3 people. The chances of ending up with health issues are not uncommon, given this kind of lifestyle. It adds up to fatigue and burnout in the end.

Recently, a corporate employee took to Twitter to ask for health-related advice from a doctor

A 37-year-old man who goes by the username @HarshalSal67 on Twitter, took to the platform to ask a doctor for advice. Harshal tweeted to Doctor Sudhir Kumar, a Neurologist at Apollo Hospitals, and opened up about how he had to put in 16-17 hours of work every day for the past 6 months.

Apparently, his blood pressure reading was concerning and leaning quite a bit on the higher side. A normal blood pressure reading should be around 120/80 whereas his reading came to be around 150/90.

Dr. Sudhir Kumar’s golden advice to the man

The doctor, based in Hyderabad, didn’t quite beat around the bush and clearly advised him to cut his work hours by half and ask the authorities to divide the workload by hiring new people.

Harshal quit his job

Harshal thanked the doctor for his immensely helpful advice and told that he quit his work. He came to realize that it was a toxic work environment after being denied leave on the weekends. Moreover, he was threatened about being replaced if he didn’t comply with their wishes.

Dr. Sudhir Kumar also asked Harshal to check out his pinned tweet

In his pinned tweet, the doctor was asked by a 35-year-old to prescribe him medicine to prevent a stroke. The Neurologist apparently prescribed the special ‘6 pills’.

They were-

  • ensuring 7-8 hours of sleep at night
  • include 30-40 minutes of brisk walking and aim for 10,000 steps a day if possible
  • fruit and vegetable intake
  • limit working hours to 8-9 hours a day
