6 Celebrities Whose Twitter Accounts Were Suspended And The Reason Behind It

In this modern era, where your followers determine how famous you are these social media platforms play a crucial role. Gone are those days when you were used to write letters to the beloved ones but in this modern world you can rule the whole world with just one click. These social media platforms have now become very famous and every person who bears a smartphone has a Twitter or Facebook Account. Since these platforms are also ruled and managed by certain companies they have their own rules and regulation and if you go beyond them they will smash out your account.

There are various instances where these companies have deleted the accounts irrespective of whether the person is a president of the country or a famous star or a beggar.

Let’s look at some of the famous persons whose Twitter accounts were suspended due to certain reasons:

1. Donald Trump

Trump, who has more than 40 million followers on Twitter, is known for his love of the medium. A Twitter employee suspended the account of President Donald Trump in November 2017 on his last working day. His account was suspended for 11 minutes and then restored. The company revealed that the action of the employee was deliberate.

2. Rangoli Chandel

The most recent action of twitter where the account of Rangoli Chandela the sister of the famous Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut was suspended as her tweets violated and went against the community guidelines by hurting people’s personal and religious sentiments which are laid by Twitter. In one of her recent tweets she wrote for the attack on police and health workers amid the Coronavirus outbreak in India, She tweeted,

“A Jamati died of Corona when police and doctors went to check their families they were attacked and killed, secular media, make these mullahs + secular media stand in a line and shoot them dead…f****k the history they may call us nazis who cares, life is more imp than the fake image (sic).”

But it is fair to believe that suspension of her account was in question for a long time.

3. PewDiePie

In the year 2016 account of the famous YouTuber, PewDiePie was suspended as his tweets pretended and presented him as a member of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). His tweets and actions were amusing and funny and which lead to the spread of fake news which went against the policies that were imposed by Twitter.

4. Abhijeet Bhattacharya

Famous for his unwanted and weird comments made by him against the people he doesn’t like, Abhijeet Bhattacharya’s Twitter account was suspended because of offensive remarks made by him against JNU student-activist Shehla Rashid after she tweeted against BJP. His comments only resulted in his account being suspended though the account was later restored.

5. Kamaal Rashid Khan

The Year 2017 KRK’s Twitter handle was also suspended where he through his tweets revealed the climax of Advait Chandan’s Secret Superstar. It is not where he stopped but also criticized the movie and made direct intended actions on the famous Actor Aamir Khan. He also said that he was planning legal actions against the Twitter company but later on he himself opened a new Account.

6. Kangana Ranaut

Kangana Ranaut’s Twitter account was suspended for repeated violations of rules. The move came after Kangana made a series of comments about the alleged violence that occurred in West Bengal. In one of her tweets Kangana called for President’s Rule to be implemented in the state after Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress’ win over the BJP in West Bengal and incidents of post-poll violence. A Twitter spokesperson said in a statement,

“We’ve been clear that we will take strong enforcement action on behaviour that has the potential to lead to offline harm. The referenced account has been permanently suspended for repeated violations of Twitter Rules specifically our Hateful Conduct policy and Abusive Behaviour policy. We enforce the Twitter Rules judiciously and impartially for everyone on our service.”
