20 Times Brands Cleverly Placed Their Products In Bollywood Movies

We all know that movies get huge sponsors from multiple companies and they do this intending to advertise their products. Product placement or embedded marketing is a new advertising phenomenon by which a company pays to the producer or creator of an entertainment product to advertise their products or services as a part of a show or movie. This helps the companies to target the audiences for getting more effective results.

So here are some of the Bollywood movies where product placement was done intelligently between the movie scenes:

1. Domino’s Pizza- Phir Hera Pheri

We all remember the iconic comedy scene of Phir Hera Pheri where Paresh Rawal insisted on the fact that Pizza would be free if it did not get delivered within thirty minutes. This scene was intended to advertise the smooth and fast service of Dominos. Paresh Rawal was even quoted as saying in the movie that the Pizza boy reaches in twenty minutes.

2. Nike- Yuvvraaj

Salman’s Khans performance was well appreciated in the movie Yuvvraaj. You must have enjoyed this movie by Subhash Ghai and the acting of Salman Khan in this movie. However, Anil Kapoor was seen as weirdly exposing his Nike socks in many of the scenes. This was a part of embedded marketing where Nike products were advertised.

3. Mountain Dew- Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

We all know that Hrithik Roshan is a brand ambassador of Mountain Dew. In This Bollywood blockbuster, Hrithik was seen promoting Mountain Dew in a unique style. You must remember the iconic scene where Hrithik was seen as doing cheers with Mountain Dew bottles before going for skydiving. He even used their famous tagline in this scene which is “Darr Ke Aage Jeet Hai”.

4. Bournvita- Krrish and Koi… Mil Gaya

The product Bournvita was advertised in many scenes of Koi Mil Gaya and Krrish and even Hrithik insisted on the fact that he became powerful after drinking Bournvita.

5. Coke- Taal

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Akshaye Khanna had a romantic scene in this movie where both of them were seen drinking coke and talking. Later Anil Kapoor was also seen saying that drinks Coke and get easy.

6. Pass Pass- Yaadein

Hrithik was seeing promoting Paas Pass in this movie. There is a scene in this movie where a girl approached Hrithik asking for a Paas Pass.

7. Black Dog- Shahenshah

Amrish Puri promoted Black Dog whiskey in this movie. He was quoted as saying,

“Jis din main koi gori titli dekh leta hoon na Mathur, mere khoon mein sakdon kaale kutte ek saath bhaunkne lagte hain. Us din main Black Dog peeta hoon.”

8. McDonald’s- Chak De! India

You must remember the iconic scene in Chak De! India where Shah Rukh Khan took the girls for a treat in McDonald’s. Here he indirectly promoted McDonald’s burgers.

9. Tide- Chup Chup Ke

The product Tide was placed in many of the scenes in Chup Chup Ke and post this movie the sales of Tide products increased to a considerable extent.

10. Nokia Lumia- Chennai Express

We all remember the scene where Shah Rukh Khan was shown as telling the features of the phone including the price just to insist on how good the phone was. This was a part of the intelligent advertisement and this was indeed done well.

11. MakeMyTrip- Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

In one of the scenes MakeMyTrip logo was shown and this was a part of intelligent advertising campaign.

12. Saffola- Ki & Ka

In one of the scenes, Arjun Kapoor was seen carrying a bottle of Saffola oil while preparing food.

13. Castrol GTX- Golmaal

In Golmaal, a car race was featured and Castrol GTX banner was shown.

14. Chevrolet and Castrol GTX- Ta Ra Rum Pum

This was a famous movie and Saif Ali Khan had played the role of a struggling fast car driver. In many of the scenes, intelligent advertisement of Chevrolet and Castrol GTX was done.

15. Pizza Hut- Main Hoon Na

In this Main Hoon Na, Pizza Hut was intelligently advertised when Shah Rukh Kahn was shown as enjoying a delicious pizza in Pizza hut.

16. Royal Enfield- Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag

In Bhaag Milkha Bhaag Farhan Akhtar was seen as riding Royal Enfield whereas in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara Katrina Kaif was seen as riding the Royal Enfield and in both the movies product placement was done wonderfully.

17. Tata Tea- Baghban

Tata Tea product was promoted when Hema Malini was seen preparing tea in one of the scenes. Also, Amitabh Bachchan was seen coming out of the Ford showroom in another scene.

18. Parle-G- Aabra Ka Daabra

The promotion of Parle-G was seen in the movie Aabra Ka Daabra. The Indian version of Harry Potter aced the advertisement of Parle-G in the movie in an efficient way.

19. Maruti Suzuki- Mere Dad Ki Maruti

This movie revolves on how particular members of a family are obsessed with Maruti car. Even the title includes Maruti.

20. Fanta- Always Kabhi Kabhi

Fanta products were promoted in this movie Always Kabhi Kabhi. The newcomers made a sincere effort to advertise Fanta in their movie in whichever manner possible.
