It is no news to anyone that passengers are not allowed to go inside the airport premises once they have stepped outside. Yes, even if you forget your belongings inside, you cannot step inside to collect your things. But of course, there is help waiting for you in such cases. It is very much possible for a passenger to be forgetful and such a case was highlighted recently when a Bengaluru passenger forgot her bag which had her wallet and keys at the airport toilet.

Recently, one such case grabbed the attention of netizens when a woman took to Twitter (X) to share her experience of losing her bag and how she got it back. Meghna Girish who is the mother of Major Akshay Girish, the Army officer who died on duty in the Nagrota terror attack got back to Bengaluru and by the time she realized that her bag is not with her, she had already stepped out of the airport.

Allegedly, it was way past midnight when she stepped outside the airport, realizing that there is nothing she can do about it as she is not allowed to re-enter, she was waiting outside when help arrived.
She wrote,
“It was past midnight when I tiredly walked out of the airport terminal… forgetting my handbag with house keys, wallet and all else in the washroom inside!”
CISF officer came to her rescue
A CISF officer came to her aid after seeing her in distress. The officer reassured her that they would get back everything safely to her.

Girish quoted the officer in her tweet and wrote,
“Ek pin bhi yahan gum nahin hoga”
The officer got the Vistara ground staff to get her bag and other belongings safely to her.
She further added,

“While I had to wait outside, he got the Vistara ground staff to retrieve it, made sure my ID cards in the bag matched the boarding card on my phone…. and grateful me sheepishly thanked them heaved a sigh of relief and took a cab home.”
And surprisingly enough the whole ordeal was over in minutes due to the efficiency of the workforce.
