Much Before Priyanka Chopra, Aishwarya Rai Exposed Bollywood In 2006

Aishwarya Rai visited Simi Garewal’s iconic show and shared how a couple of films were happening with her but…

Back in 2006, Aishwarya Rai visited Simi Garewal‘s iconic talk show. There she made some crazy revelations about the dark side of Bollywood, something that none of you have ever thought of. During the interview, Simi was talking about Shah Rukh Khan, while talking about him she said to Aishwarya as we quote,

“You were working together on five films, weren’t you? Aish. Veer Zara was written for you.”

To this, Aishwarya chuckled and replied,

“A couple of films were supposed to happen with me. But suddenly, they weren’t happening, without any reason whatsoever. I have never had the answer to why.”

What is interesting to note is that when Simi asked if her removal from these five films was her decision, Aishwarya said as we quote,

“No, it wasn’t my decision. You obviously are taken aback, confused, and, of course, hurt. You wonder about it.”

Did that experience change your outlook on how things work in Bollywood? Asked Simi to Aishwarya

In the same conversation, Simi spiced things up and asked Aishwarya a very obvious question. She asked if her experience made her realize certain things about B-town. Responding to the question Aish said as we quote,

“You become more aware of what you’ve heard about, like in terms of…situations, people having a dominos effect on other people or other projects. It became obvious that it can happen to me too…with all your apparent box office success or ‘secure positioning’ in the industry.”

What is noteworthy is that the five films from which Aish was removed were some of the most iconic films with none other than our King Khan. Chalte Chalte, Kal Ho Naa Ho, and Veer Zaara were to name some of those movies.

Aishwarya then went on to give a mature response when asked about SRK

In the same interview, Simi asked Aishwarya if she ever questioned Shah Rukh Khan about her removal from those 5 movies. To this Aishwarya very maturely replied as we quote,

“It’s not in my nature to. If a person feels a need to explain it, they will. If they never did, they never intend to. So, it’s not in my nature to question what and why. Probably within myself, but I wouldn’t go up to a person and ask why. By the grace of God, I’m not defined by the other.”

You would be astounded to note that SRK did apologize for what all happened. Being the King he spoke to India Today back in 2003 and shared with the world as we quote,

“To start a project with someone and then change her for no fault of hers is very difficult. It is very sad as Ash is a good friend. Personally, I think I did wrong. But as a producer, it made sense. I apologized to Ash.”

Aishwarya and SRK were great friends for a long time. However, to assume that a rough patch entered their friendship would not be so wrong. Nonetheless, they both were reunited when they starred together in 2016 for Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
