Rinku Singh’s Humble Reply Is Winning Hearts On ‘Mitchell Starc Earns 24.75 Crore, You 55 Lakh’

Cricketer Rinku Singh has lived a fairytale life over the past few years because of his aggressive hitting skills. He was raised in poverty and has experienced struggles throughout his life. His father, Khanchandra Singh, was employed by an LPG distribution firm. However, this didn’t stop him from pursuing his dream. He overcame obstacles to continue playing cricket for the Indian national team. However, it’s his Indian Premier League (IPL) team, the Kolkata Knight Riders, that has truly made him famous.

Rinku has spent seven years with the same IPL team. However, he began to truly show off his abilities a few seasons ago. After hitting five straight sixes in the final over to help KKR defeat the Gujarat Titans in an exciting match, Rinku Singh shot to fame last year. The game seemed to be over only three overs ago when Rashid Khan claimed a hat-trick. However, Rinku’s undefeated 48 from 21 deliveries sealed the victory for KKR.

Though the IPL has witnessed many spectacular comebacks, none of the previous 15 seasons have seen anything like Rinku. He made history by becoming the first hitter to win a match by hitting five sixes off the last over. Since then, Rinku has been winning games for KKR and his reliability led to an India call-up.

Rinku Singh is getting a salary of about Rs. 55 lacs in KKR

However, despite this, he is not getting a salary like other KKR players. For example, even overseas player Mitchell Stark is getting Rs. 24.75 crore.

Meanwhile, Rinku Singh is still getting 55 lacs. Even a price of Rs 10 crore would not be sufficient to sign Rinku if he chooses to leave KKR and enter the auction pool.

What does Rinku Singh say about his low salary at KKR?

When asked about his modest income at KKR, Rinku Singh provided a perfect example of his mindset by stating that even Rs. 50–55 lakh was a lot of money for him. In an Interview with Dainik Jagran, Rinku said,

“Even 50-55 lakhs is a lot. When I started, I had not even thought that I would earn so much. At that time, I was a kid and if I got even 10-5 rupees, I thought I would get it somehow. Now I am getting 55 lakh rupees, so this is a lot, I should be happy with whatever God gives me. This is my thinking. I don’t think at all that I should have got this much money or that much. I am very happy even with 55 lakh rupees. When I didn’t have this, I realized the value of money.”

With this, Rinku Singh proved that he is not the kind of person who thinks chasing money is a good idea. Like Yogis from the Himalayas, he emphasized that individuals came and went in the same manner—empty-handed. Thus, maintaining your foundation is essential. Speaking about this, Rinku Singh said,

“If I tell you the truth today, then all this is an illusion. You did not bring anything with you, nor will you take anything with you. You never know when time will change. I would like to say that you have to go back the same way you came. Stay grounded, what else.”
