Pandya 158 in 55 balls

Hardik Pandya has had one of the most breathtaking comebacks to competitive cricket after his back injury as he has already hit two centuries in the ongoing DY Patil T20 tournament. Hardik, who underwent a surgery after suffering a lower-back injury last year, was left out of India’s recently concluded tour of New Zealand after failing a fitness test.

A couple of days back, Hardik Pandya had hit his first century where he scored 105 runs off 39 balls. To top it, he also took a five-wicket haul in the same match picking up 5/26.

Hardik had told DY Patil Sports Academy after the match against CAG.

“It’s fantastic (platform) for someone like me. I have been away for almost six months. This is my second game after a long time. For me it is a good platform to see where I am currently and test my body. I am really happy with the way things have gone,”

Pandya scored his second hundred of the tournament for Reliance 1 on March 6 in their semi-final clash against Suryakumar Yadav’s BPCL. The right-hander smashed the bowlers to all parts of the ground as he registered his highest T20 individual score of 158* off just 55 balls.

The 26-year-old has clearly announced his arrival to cricket and is ready to take on the world. He showed that he is back by hitting 20 humongous sixes and 6 boundaries on his way to 158 and remained not out in the end. He got to his century off just 39 balls. Reliance 1 ended with 238 runs on the board.

The Mumbai Indians fans would be on cloud nine given that the thirteenth edition of the IPL is not far away and if the younger Pandya brother continues his form in that tournament, the other franchises are in for a leather hunt.

This is good news not only for Mumbai Indians fans but for all the Indian fans as the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 is not far away and their best all-rounder is back in form.
