Zomato is one of the biggest food ordering and delivery apps in India. A large number of people order food from Zomato every day. Even though it provides a great platform for ordering food, it has several issues regarding its delivery aspect and customer care. Many people have faced a problem related to the delivery of the food, and when asking for support from customer care, they do nothing but tell them to write an email regarding their issue.

A customer has recently shared a post on Reddit telling how a Zomato delivery boy marked his order delivered without delivering it to his room. When he asked the delivery boy about the order, he misbehaved with him. Further, he asked for help from Zomato support, and they told him to write an email about their issue, but no solution was provided.

“Zomato delivery boy marks order delivered without delivering it” went viral

A user on Reddit shared a post stating how a delivery boy faked delivering his prepaid order and marked it delivered on the app. He wrote that he ordered food from Zomato and paid for it in advance, which he considered a big mistake. After the food was picked up by the delivery boy, it was marked delivered without handing it over.

“I ordered from restaurant on Zomato (order #7193660485) and the order was prepaid (big mistake). It was picked up but after few minutes it was marked as delivered but I hadn’t received it.”

After checking the app, the user called the delivery boy, and he told him that he could not deliver the order because of the rain. Further, he asked him why he marked the order delivered, because now he has lost both his food and money, and then the delivery boy cut the call.

“I called the delivery person who on my first call (which I didn’t record as I didn’t know what was coming next.) told me that he couldn’t deliver since it was raining. When confronted as to why he marked it as delivered (because I have now lost money without my fault) he cut the call.”

The delivery boy misbehaved with the customer, saying, “Do what you can do”

Further, he wrote in a post that, after the delivery boy cut the first call, which was not recorded, the user called him again, and he recorded the second call. In the second call, the delivery boy refused to deliver the order, and when the user warned him about complaining about him to Zomato, he said Do what you can do.

“I recorded the second call (Not able to post link here) where he first refused to deliver and when I warned him about complaining to Zomato, he said do what you can (“Jo ukhaadna hai ukhaad le’).”

No resolution from Zomato support

He also added in the post that Zomato AI support is useless as usual. He said that when he selected the ‘I did not receive my order’ option from the list of queries, it asked the user to write an email to Zomato regarding their issue, and they did not provide any other solution.

“Zomato AI support is unhelpful as always. When I chose the option of ‘I haven’t received the order’ it straightaway asked me to email the issue and provided no other resolution.”

He also said that he understands that it’s raining, but marking an undelivered prepaid order as delivered is wrong to the customer.

“I understand that it was raining but marking an undelivered order as delivered is punishing the customer without any fault.”

He added the link to the call recording in the comment section of the Reddit post, as he was unable to add it in the post.
