A complaint by a Zomato customer has surfaced on social media after a vegetarian customer received a non-vegetarian item in place of their original order. The user, who placed an order via Zomato from their restaurant partner, EatSure outlet in Noida Sector 16, had requested a Mushroom Corn Cheese Sub but received a chicken sub instead.
This kind of incident often sparked outrage, especially if the customer identifies as a pure vegetarian. This time also the user described the mistake as a violation of his religious and personal values.

In India, dietary preferences are deeply intertwined with religious beliefs. For many communities, consuming meat is strictly forbidden, and even accidental ingestion is considered a violation of faith.

For this reason, food delivery platforms and restaurants should take extra precautions while handling vegetarian orders, often clearly labeling food packs as “Veg” or “Non-Veg.” Delivering the wrong dish, especially one containing meat, to a vegetarian customer is non-negotiable.
