Once a cherished social media-friendly couple, cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and choreographer Dhanashree Verma are now leading their lives separately. However, their separation is no less than a dramatic climax of any Indian soap opera. The couple was married in 2020 and filed for divorce earlier this year. Their sudden split, which occurred only four years after they were married, sparked a lot of rumors and gossip.
On one hand, some old photos of Dhanashree with boys were going viral, while questions were being raised on Chahal for cheating on his wife. Due to their divorce, Yuzvendra’s friend Raj Mahvesh received the most attention. Her presence at Chahal’s matches to her mysterious posts on the relationship always hinted that she is the person who becomes the third wheel. However, both Chahal and Dhanashree were tight-lipped about why they got divorced until recently. In his recent appearance on Raj Shamani’s podcast, Chahal shared in-depth about his divorce and his last conversation with his ex-wife.

What did Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma talk about during their last conversation?
Cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal recently sat with renowned YouTuber, podcaster Raj Shamani on his podcast. During the conversation, they spoke about various topics. However, what grabbed most headlines is none other than Chahal’s divorce. He disclosed that he is no longer in touch with his ex-wife. He did, however, recall their most recent chat, which had taken place during the divorce proceedings.

Chahal said that it had been months and that they had only discussed formal issues after the breakup. He says,
Jo last time baat hui thi, woh bhi hamari lawyer ke through hui thi, I think September something, kuch hamara tha. Nahi, auction se pehle to ho hi nahi rahi thi. Par jo last time video hua tha, uske baad kabhi baat nahi hui. 6-7 mahine ho gaye honge. Matlab sirf kuch kaam ka tha, to kuch cheez hogi to. Bas uske baad nahi.
Chahal went on to say that everything ended after the World Cup and that no personal contact was made until absolutely required. He says,

I think after the World Cup, 19th July, tab se to bilkul hi done ho gaya tha. Woh pehle se bhi chal hi raha tha, par wahan se properly start ho gaya ki ab end hi ho raha hai. Speaking about their divorce, Yuzvendra Chahal disclosed that he and Dhanashree had been discussing a divorce for some time before deciding to jointly end their relationship. According to him, there was no desire to offend or treat anyone disrespectfully. But he acknowledged that something from the other side caused him to reconsider and feel compelled to reply. As a result, he attended their divorce hearing wearing the infamous T-shirt that read, “Be Your Own Sugar Daddy.” He says,
Mujhe nahi karna tha drama…I just wanted to give one message, and maine woh de diya. Kuch cheez hua tha, and maine kaha ab sambhaal lo… ab mujhe kisi ki parwah nahi. Maine na kisi ko abuse kra, bus mujhe message dena tha.

Speaking to Raj Shamani, the cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal also opened up about rumors of him being a cheater. He says,

Jab mere divorce ka chal rha tha to uske baad divorce hua to mere pe ye lagaa ki he’s a cheater. Maine kabhi zindagi me cheat kiya hi nahi hai… Mere jaisa loyal insan to milega bhi nahi.
Adding that he has a sister and he knows how to respect girls, Chahal said,
I have two sister or maine bachpan se dekha hai ki ladkiyo ki kaise respect karni hai. Mere gharwaalon ne mujhe wo cheez sikhaayi hai… zaroori nahi aap kisi se saath dikh rhe ho to aap kuch bhi likh do views ke liye…
Yuzvendra Chahal also spoke about the alimony he had to give to Dhanashree
There were also widespread rumors at the time that Dhanashree had asked for Rs. 60 crore in alimony. However, her family vehemently refuted those rumors. According to reports, they stated in a public statement that no such sum has ever been requested or provided. They asserted that every rumor was untrue and extremely irresponsible. Later on, reports stated that Dhanshree got 4.75 crore alimony from Chahal.
Now, in the podcast, Yuzvendra Chahal stated that the divorce talks were difficult, particularly in terms of money. Without going into specifics about the alimony, Chahal stated,
