“The world isn’t safe for women” we’ve heard this so many times. To change this statement so many protests, movements, notions have been passed and done. Gradually those worked and now the world isn’t as unfair it was to women. Things are changing with time and a lot has changed in the year 2021.
Let’s look at some of the significant and impactful changes that have happened for women in 2021:

1. The women handball team of The Norwegian Handball Federation changed its costume rules
This year during the prior months the Norwegian Women’s beach ball team was fined because they wore shorts instead of bikini bottoms. Now the new rules include women’s team gotta wear short tight pants with a close fit and body fit tank top.
2. This was the first year when three women judges were appointed to the Supreme Court of India
The better thing about this is, there are close chances of one of them becoming the first woman CJI.

Femina magazine has always portrayed from Bollywood, on its front page. But this time it was different.

4. Women gymnast team of Germany made a statememt by wearing full-length body suits at the Tokyo Olympics
During the Tokyo Olympics the German team did something different and completely brought in a new dress code. For very long the women’s team wear bikini bottoms, whereas the men’s team wear clothes which sorta cover the body. So this year the team were full-length bodysuits for the Olympic games.

5. Harshwanti Bisht scripted history by becoming the first woman president of the Indian Mountaineering Foundation
Indian Mountaineering Foundation has a new president and they broke history by having the first woman president. Her name is Harshwanti Bisht and during the election, for the president role, she won it with a score of 60 votes out of 107.

6. In Central America, a country named Honduras welcomed its first even women president, Xiomara Castro

7. Falguni Nayar, the founder Nykaa became India’s wealthiest self-made female billionaire
Currently, her net worth is $6.5 billion.

8. In Odisha a foundation named ASHA works for the well-being of the people. One of the workers, Matilda Kullu, has been featured in the Forbes India W-Power 2021.
Her name was in the post along with the names of Arundhati Bhattacharya and Rasika Duggal. Had it not been her, the village would still be resorting to black magic.

9. In India the limit for termination of pregnancy for special cases has been increased to 24 weeks from 20 weeks
This is only applicable for special cases of fetal abnormalities.
10. The new order from the Supreme Court on India says that women are now allowed to take the NDA exams
When they issued this order, the Army was criticized since not allowing women to take the exam was gender discrimination.
