A Miss Universe India 2024 Finalist, Chayanika Debnath recently shared on Instagram that she found worms in the rice bowl she had ordered from “The Good Bowl”. “The Good Bowl” is a popular cloud kitchen with outlets across the country, and they are listed in top food delivery apps. Posting a reel she raised serious concerns about the quality of food that we order from seemingly reliable brands. Chayanika shared a glimpse of her bill, which shows that this particular outlet she ordered from was located in Kolkata.
Chayanika Debnath shared her unfortunate experience and concerns about food ordered from cloud kitchens
Her reel went viral, where she narrated her experience with the particular meal she ordered from “The Good Bowl”. She said that she began eating the rice while watching TV. She witnessed a few grains that looked somewhat blackish in colour. When she was eating, she got a strange taste in her mouth that urged her to spit out the morsel onto a plate. She claims that she then saw a half-eaten worm. She later checked and realized that her bowl had more worms. She stated that she often switches off the light while eating and watching TV, therefore, she wouldn’t even know what she was consuming.
She went on to explain the condition of “working professionals” like her who place their faith in such establishments. Chayanika further states that she’s always been a loyal customer of The Good Bowl and orders from them frequently.

“Thank you @swiggyindia and @thegoodbowlindia for feeding me worms when I asked for a bowl of rice. Customers’ health and hygiene while preparing meals is a joke for you!!! And Swiggy’s answer to this issue is, ‘We’ve refunded.’ I’ve mailed Swiggy for strict action against the restaurant and am still waiting for a response whereas when I reached out to Good Bowl’s Insta handle, they just asked for my number and vanished! Boom!!”

“Hi Chayanika, that shouldn’t have happened. Could you please help us with the order details on DM, so we can run this by the team?”
The official Instagram handle of The Good Bowl also acknowledged the issue in the comments section. They wrote,
“We are extremely sorry you had to go through this. We are looking into this, and we assure you we will get to the bottom of this. Sorry for the experience once again!”

“You have to see these cloud kitchens in real – they are so dirty. There was a reel that went viral 2-3 weeks back of Fresh Menu’s kitchen. Trust me invest a couple of hours in the weekend for meal preps and get sorted.”
Another mentioned,
“OMG! This is disgusting and scary! Completely unacceptable! Even I’m also a regular customer of the Good Bowl.”
Before this, a clip showing the shocking location of a ‘Fresh Menu’ cloud kitchen in Mumbai went viral. It seems like one needs to be careful while ordering and eating the food ordered from cloud kitchens and the delivery partners should be more responsible.
