Recently, Urvashi Rautela attended the 78th Cannes Film Festival wearing an asymmetrical dark green tube dress with vibrant details. She accessorized her outfit with a fashionable crystal parrot clutch from the Judith Leiber brand, which retails at an astounding Rs. 4,57,744. For her outfit, she received widespread praise from all over the world. However, her appearance reinforced the comparison between her and Aishwarya Rai. Many people took it as an opportunity to troll her.

Following this, on May 27, 2025, Urvashi Rautela sent a note on social media. In her note, she mocked the headlines that referred to her as “Aishwarya Rai with zero charisma.”

Although Aishwarya Rai is iconic, she stated in her note that she was not there to imitate anyone. She said that she is actually the ‘blueprint.’ In her post, she said,

So apparently I’m ‘trying to be Aishwarya Rai with 0 charisma’? Darling… Aishwarya is iconic. But I’m not here to be anyone’s duplicate. I’m the blueprint.

Furthermore, Urvashi Rautela went on to say that she was invited to the Cannes Film Festival to stand out rather than to fit in. She wrote,

Cannes didn’t invite me to blend in – I came to stand out. If my look, my style or my confidence makes you uncomfortable… maybe take a deep breath (or two). I’m not everyone’s cup of tea – I’m more like champagne with fireworks. And charisma? Sweetheart, if you could measure it, I’d break the scale.

Furthermore, Urvashi Rautela told critics to keep talking about fashion icons. She concluded:
