Cloud kitchens are very popular nowadays, they are registered on online food delivery platforms and claim to serve healthy meals at nominal rates. One such popular cloud kitchen is Mumbai’s ‘Fresh Menu’, registered on food delivery apps like Swiggy for its lower-priced menu. Recently, an Instagram user who ordered food from the cloud kitchen visited one of the Mumbai Fresh Menu locations. The person was shocked after noticing the surroundings of the location. He recorded the location and uploaded it on Instagram, the clip soon went viral.
Viral clip of Fresh Menu location in Mumbai is shocking
In the now-viral video, the man by the username @octanexoxygen claims that he had ordered a paneer dish from Fresh Menu, but instead, he received a chicken dish. The food of the cloud kitchen on Swiggy is often availed by customers. The menu is often set at a low price. The curious customer wonders wanted to check what and how they serve at the bargain of these decreased costs.

In the video, he shares that when he was in the locality of the Cloud Kitchen outlet at Kalina, Santacruz East, he decided to go inspect it. But he was left “shocked” by looking at the state of the surroundings and a sneak peek into the pantry.
The location seemed to be an old run-down building in a dirty and unhygienic area
In the video, it can seen that the street around the cloud kitchen is filled with mud, with dirty water potholes. The Cloud Kitchen establishment is housed in an old run-down grey building. The surrounding area looks untidy and unclean. The user stated that he was not allowed to film inside the pantry and he had no intentions to take a video of it either. Further, by sharing the video, he asks the viewers to “be careful.”

Later, the same user uploaded a “Part 2” video where one can see him inside the cloud kitchen, describing the order mix-up to the staff there. Opening the food item he received in front of them on the counter, he asks them to confirm whether it is chicken or paneer. He also gives them a paper bill for his order. A staff member can be seen admitting that it’s chicken. In the caption, the user explained that the Cloud Kitchen accepted the mistake and said that it occurred because the staff was new and had just joined.

Fresh Menu noticed the viral video and issued a statement
The company apologized for their mistake and wrote,

“We sincerely apologize for the unfortunate incident of delivering a non-vegetarian burger to you. Our team recognized the error during your visit to our kitchen and expressed our regret for the mix-up at our dispatch station. Please be assured that we have taken this matter very seriously. Disciplinary action has been taken against the responsible team members, and we have retrained our staff to ensure strict adherence to our processes moving forward.”
Fresh Menu also addressed the claim of the dirty location of the kitchen shown in the video. The company stated,
“We would like to clarify that our facility follows all required food safety measures within our premises. While we have been operating from this location for the past two years, as tenants, our influence over the external environment is limited. However, we can assure you that we do not contribute negatively to the neighbourhood. We follow proper garbage and waste management practices.
The water seen on the street originates from water tankers that service businesses and residential buildings in the morning hours and is not sewage. The lane is shared with nearly 25 other businesses and shops. Taking your feedback into account, we will actively collaborate with other businesses to improve the overall upkeep of the area. We value your feedback and deeply regret any inconvenience caused. Your concerns are important to us, and we are committed to ensuring a better experience in the future”
