Akshay kumar donated for coronavirus

In one of the biggest gestures by a B-town celebrity, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar pledged to donate Rs 25 crore in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. The development comes in the wake of netizens accusing Bollywood stars of not contributing to help those struggling with Covid-19 crisis.

And now, taking it a notch higher, Kumar has vowed to contribute whopping sum of Rs 25 crore to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s PM-Cares fund to help the government in its fight against coronavirus pandemic.

Sharing the news on Twitter, the actor said that he will contribute the donation amount to PM Narendra Modi’s relief fund from his savings. His post read,

Akshay Kumar’s wife Twinkle Khanna is “proud” of him, who recently pledged to donate Rs 25 crore to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s relief fund for COVID-19. The 46-year-old author, in her latest tweet, shared a glimpse of the conversation she had with her actor husband regarding his decision to contribute the money to help other people during the Coronavirus outbreak and said that he makes her “proud.”

Twinkle Khanna has revealed what urged Akshay to take this decision of donating such a whopping amount. Taking to Twitter, Twinkle Khanna wrote,

“The man makes me proud. When I asked him if he was sure as it was such a massive amount and we needed to liquidate funds, he just said, ‘I had nothing when I started and now that I am in this position, how can I hold back from doing whatever I can for those who have nothing’.”

Akshay has been making the complete use of social media platforms to raise awareness about the coronavirus and was also seen urging people to take the government’s advisory of self-isolation seriously amid the rising cases of the virus.
