The Indian cricket team, led by Rohit Sharma, put up a masterful display against archrival Pakistan in a thrilling match at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. The 2023 ODI Cricket World Cup witnessed a resounding victory as India secured a dominant seven-wicket win.

The match between these cricketing heavyweights brought passionate Indian fans, and the home team played up to the hype. India effectively decimated Pakistan, holding them to a meager 191 runs, thanks to their precise bowling. During the run chase, Rohit Sharma’s aggressive batting style made sure that the pressure on the scoreboard was reduced. Shreyas Iyer scored a superb half-century to bring the game to a close. The hosts claimed victory with an astonishing 117 balls left in the game.

Due to the heated and high-voltage nature of an IND vs. PAK match, the environment outside the stadium was also filled with fervent comments from former cricket players expressing their thoughts on it. Amidst the jubilation, a conversation on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) between Shoaib Akhtar and Sachin Tendulkar went viral. Fans were mesmerized by Sachin’s clever answer, which seemed to outperform Shoaib. This moment increased the enthusiasm for the post-match celebrations.

Former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar raised the temperature on X, formerly known as Twitter, before the start of India vs Pakistan. He shared a snapshot of himself dismissing the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, accompanied by a caption, saying,

“Kal agar asa kuch kerna hai, toh #ThandRakh”

It loosely translated to “If you want to do something like this tomorrow, keep cool.”

With three straight victories to start their World Cup 2023 campaign, India was able to secure first place in the standings. India took first place with a higher net run rate than New Zealand, who also earned six points from three games. On the other hand, Pakistan, after losing its first game to India, comes in 4th on the point table. Interestingly, Pakistan also has a negative net run rate. It means it would be in danger if England won against Afghanistan in today’s match. Then, Pakistan will not be able to maintain its position in the top 4.
