Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is all set to lead the world’s No. 1 Test team in a two-match Test series in South Africa. He is currently in South Africa with Ritika and their daughter Samiara Sharma. The first Test match between India and South Africa will be played on December 26 at the SuperSport Park in Centurion. The second one is scheduled to take place on January 3, 2024, at Newlands in Cape Town.
After the unfortunate loss to Australia at the 2023 World Cup final in Ahmedabad, Rohit had been on a break from the field. He missed both the T20I series against Australia during this hiatus and the initial white-ball matches of the South Africa tour. Rohit spent quality time with his family, vacationing in the UK after months of intense cricket to rejuvenate.

So far, Rohit has played in a total of 52 Test matches for the country in which he has managed to score a total of 3677 runs at an average of 46.54. He also has 10 centuries and 16 fifties to his name in the red-ball format of the game. Rohit has played four Test matches in South Africa, in which he has scored 123 runs.
