In a post in Hindi, an X user “SuperBhakt3”, revealed that it appears as though Allahbadia’s remarks have been “stolen from elsewhere”.

The joke was apparently stolen from a YouTube group called the OG Crew. The YouTube video was posted two weeks ago, and it seems that Ranveer didn’t even come up with the joke, he just made a conscious decision to use it on the comedy show. The group features creators who make entertaining videos, including challenges and vlogs.

One YouTuber Sammy Walsh asked the same question to a participant Akila in one such video titled ‘Truth or Drink’. The idea of the show is based on asking uncomfortable questions that force the participants to drink instead of answering.

An X user shared the original video clip with the caption,

“Ranveer Allahbadia was aware of what he was going to say- it was a well-prepared skit copied from an English show! It was not an accident or a slip of the tongue! Don’t accept his apology because it was not a mistake! Watch! #Beerbiceps.”

Earlier, BeerBiceps had posted an apology video on social media. In the video, Ranveer stated,

“My comment was not just inappropriate, it was not even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here to say sorry. Many of you asked if this is how I wished to use my platform and obviously, this is not how I wish to use it. I am not going to give any context or justification or reasoning behind whatever happened. I am just here to apologise. I personally had a lapse in judgement. It was not cool on my part.”

Ranveer Allahbadia’s improper comment on India’s Got Latent attracted the backlash

For the unversed, Allahbadia appeared on the comedy show, India’s Got Latent as a judge along with Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, and Apoorva Mukhija, aka ‘The Rebel Kid’. In the episode, he asked a contestant,

“Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once to make it stop forever?”

This led to a wave of backlash and trolling against Ranveer and the show.
