The Indian Railways is often described as the nation’s lifeline, as it plays a pivotal role in connecting India’s vast and diverse landscapes. Since its establishment, it has expanded to become one of the largest and busiest rail networks in the world. With the ability to transport millions of tons of freight nationwide and more than 23 million passengers every day, the railways have become the most essential form of transportation and a vital component of India’s socio-economic growth.

However, even with all of its advancements and advantages, the Indian Railways has become more and more of a hotbed of criminal activities. Passengers frequently describe instances of fraud, extortion, theft, and molestation.

Despite being gigantic, Indian Railways always finds itself in stories like this, showing the holes in its security system. To totally eradicate this security problem, the government and authorities will have to enhance RPF vigilance. They can also add more CCTVs. However, we will have to do this on a priority basis. Otherwise, these kinds of incidents will damage the railways’ image every day.
