One of those stories that recently resurfaces is the one involving Bollywood star Deepika Padukone and model-actor Muzammil Ibrahim. According to several stories and interviews, they were in a relationship when they were at the early stage of their careers. The two decided to part ways after spending almost two years together. Who is Muzammil Ibrahim?
Muzammil Ibrahim is an actor and model. He was born in Kashmir’s Srinagar. However, he later shifted to Mumbai due to the increased insurgency in Kashmir. Speaking of Muzammil Ibrahim’s career path, he began modeling after relocating from Kashmir. While attending Delhi’s Jamia Millia Islamia University to study mechanical engineering, he won the Gladrags Manhunt India pageant in 2003 as Mr. India.

He made his screen debut in the lead role of Pooja Bhatt’s action thriller Dhokha in 2007. He then went on to play Nikhil Ahuja in Will You Marry Me? (2012) and Ajay in Horn ‘Ok’ Pleassss (2009). He then makes a significant comeback through Special Ops in 2020 as Avinash.
Apart from his acting career, Muzammil has received recognition for his courageous deeds. He received two honors: the Godfrey Phillips National Bravery Award for saving a tourist in Goa in 2008 and the National Bravery Award for saving a youngster from drowning in 1992. Apart from this, he has also won two national-level swimming championships and practices martial arts.

Muzammil Ibrahim reveals having a relationship with Deepika Padukone
Despite not being as well-known as Deepika Padukone, he made an indelible impression on the entertainment industry with his music videos and his incredible debut performance in Dhokha. Nevertheless, the actor made headlines recently after engaging in a sincere discussion with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel. In the interview, he revealed that he fell in love with Deepika when she had recently relocated to Mumbai to pursue a career in modeling. What’s more interesting is the fact that he revealed that it was Deepika who proposed to him for a relationship. Recalling their encounter, he revealed:
We dated during our modeling days. We did a show for Tommy Hilfiger together. And she had seen me in Gladrags, Pardesiya, and all of that, and liked me a lot. That is how we met. We dated for two years… It was my first actual relationship. Deepika proposed to me first.

Muzammil Ibrahim recalls his relationship days with Deepika Padukone
At that time, Deepika was just beginning her acting career, but Muzammil was already an actor. Speaking about their relationship, he recalled their humble origins and portrayed their time together in a sentimental manner, including their adorable rickshaw dates. Muzammil also recalled a pleasant memory of how Deepika begged the autorickshaw driver to play her favorite song, and he did so for an hour and a half. He said,
We both were very young at that time, and it used to feel extremely sweet how we would roam around in auto rickshaws while it rained in the city. I remember this, once, I had asked the driver to play her favorite song, and for 1.5 hours, he only played that song. She was so happy.
Muzammil Ibrahim revealed why they broke up and how their relationship is now
Muzammil Ibrahim ended their relationship after two years of serious dating, but they are still close friends today. As a huge admirer of the actress, Muzammil expressed his happiness for Deepika now that she is well-known and a global celebrity. When asked if they still communicated, he revealed that they were great friends who encouraged one another. Muzammil also revealed that they had spoken occasionally prior to Deepika’s marriage to Ranveer Singh. He was cited as saying:

We broke up because I left her, but I don’t regret it… She was a model, but I had become an actor already. She is a superstar now. Everyone knows her, nobody knows me. I am a big fan. I love her work, and I feel really happy when I see her doing good in life. I have spent so much time with her, I always want to see her happy… Before her wedding, we would talk sometimes, and she was always very sweet. We didn’t become friends immediately after our breakup, but eventually, we got in touch again. We would congratulate each other on our achievements, and always hyped each other up.
While Deepika Padukone is currently married to actor Ranveer and has a daughter named Dua, Muzammil Ibrahim is still unmarried.
