This prompt acknowledgment shows the Railways’ intent to address grievances seriously, particularly when they involve the safety and dignity of passengers.
To this, Ibrahim responded by saying,
Sir, you are asking for PNR number or UTS number, but I traveled in the general coach and had a counter ticket. I purchased a general ticket from the counter. Please take action on this complaint
The incident has once again highlighted the need for stricter monitoring in general compartments, where security personnel are often limited. This raises concerns over inappropriate behavior, and the importance of handling such situations sensitively and lawfully, without discrimination.
Railway activists and frequent travelers have called for regular patrolling by the Railway Protection Force (RPF), installation of more surveillance cameras, and clearer protocols for handling complaints onboard.
