Asthma patient seeks urgent help on train, Indian Railways responds swiftly via social media
On June 2nd, a railway passenger named Amandeep Singla found himself in a medical emergency while traveling by train. He urgently needed a specific inhaler containing Formoterol Fumarate and Budesonide 200, a medicine used to treat asthma and breathing-related issues. Realizing the seriousness of the situation and that he didn’t have the medicine with him, Amandeep decided to seek help in a modern way, by turning to social media. To make things easier for responders, he also attached a photo of the inhaler to the post.

He posted on platform X (formerly known as Twitter), tagging the official IRCTC handle @IRCTCofficial and writing,

Passenger thanks Indian Railways for providing timely medical help during train journey
After receiving the much-needed inhaler while travelling on an Indian Railways train, asthma patient Amandeep Singla took to social media once again to express his heartfelt gratitude. Tagging @RailwaySeva, @IRCTCofficial, and @DRMJodhpurNWR, he shared how amazed he was when a doctor boarded the train at the next station with the exact medicine he had requested and even conducted a preliminary checkup right inside the train bogie.
Calling it an “amazing experience,” Amandeep thanked the entire team for their prompt and compassionate response. He also extended his appreciation to Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, concluding his message with a patriotic “Jai Hind.”
