In a time when mobile phones, 24/7 internet access, and a never-ending desire for content are the standard, the lines separating private and public life are quickly blurring. What was once considered personal space is now vulnerable to unwanted attention, especially in public places.
A recent instance of immoral behavior in a temple has shaken people’s trust and conscience in a nation like India, where temples are regarded as sacred places of spirituality and serenity.

A girl confronts a pervert outside a Rajasthan temple
A recent incident involving an elderly man shocked the whole country. It happened when he photographed a female devotee waiting outside the Dilwara Jain Temple in Mount Abu, Rajasthan, in an inappropriate manner. He used the camera on his phone to record her legs. In the photos, her legs were exposed, and she was sitting in front of him in a short dress. However, her face did not appear in the photo.
Feeling suspicious, the female went up to the man and requested him to show her his phone gallery. She discovered that he had secretly snapped pictures of her on his phone. This infuriated her. She went up to the man and asked him what he was doing. Asking to man why he has taken her pictures, she said,

She added that she felt uneasy since he was staring at her. As soon as she protested his behavior, the man immediately removed her offensive photos. However, it was unclear if photos had been deleted entirely from his device or stored as a backup copy somewhere else.

Criticising him, she stated,
Aren’t you ashamed? You are sitting near a temple and clicking my pictures.
To her further annoyance, he later denied taking the photos at all after deleting them in front of her. Before leaving the temple, she said,
Ek Lagaun Kya?..You just deleted them. Badtameez. As**ole.
