Viral Video: Gujarat Farmer Barehanded Chases Away Lion To Save His Cow

Social media platforms are one of the greatest sources to know about what is happening around the world. Be it bizarre, important, funny, or anything, everything that is worthy goes viral on social media platforms. Now, the bond between domesticated animals and humans is a special one. The majority of owners have a great fondness for their pets, no matter if it’s a dog or a cow. A video has gone viral all over the internet that shows a similar fondness by a man from Gujarat who chases away a lion to save his cow.

Attacks by lions are increasing at a rapid pace

Gujarat is one of the biggest hubs of these endangered big cats. Talking over this crazy happening that happened on Thursday on the outskirts of Alidar village, Range Forest Officer Ashok Amin said as we quote,

“Lions have made the area surrounding Alidar their permanent home. Videos showing lions roaming around human settlements surface regularly.”

Furthermore, it is true that the attacks by lions on human beings are increasing at a rapid pace. In May itself a 5-year-old boy named Vishal Parmar became prey to a lioness in the Bhavnagar district of Gujarat. The little boy was sleeping with his parents outside their hut when the lioness attacked and took him away. The remains of the little boy were eventually found some 1.5 kilometers away from his house.

While the death of lions in Gir is worrisome it is also true that such happenings make it a lot more important to be secure and kilometers away from such species. Following this saddening incident that happened in May, the lioness was thankfully captured by the Forest officials of the Shetrunji wildlife division.

A man from Gujarat chases away a lion who was attacking his cow

A video has crazily gone viral that hails from none other than Gujarat. Shot from inside a car the video showcases a crazy encounter between a cow, a lion, and a man. A tussle is going on between the two animals where the lion is trying to not lose his grip on the innocent cow meanwhile the cow is struggling yet is adamant to lose the clutches of the lion. As both animals are busy in their scuffle we get to see how a middle-aged man, probably the owner of the cow walks slowly towards the scene.

Presumably looking for a stick or stone the man looks all around the roadsides. Once he gets his hands on what looks like a stone he walks towards the lion to literally chase him away. Sounds crazy? Wait till you know what happens next!

The viral video shows the man successfully shooed the lion away

While the move by the Gujarati man seems like a stupid one it was eventually successful when he managed to shoo away the lion. To say that his bravery deserves a round of applause would be a sheer understatement.
