Once again, there has been a ruckus regarding selling a ‘Rail Neer’ water bottle worth Rs 15 for Rs 20 in the train. Passengers often face this issue and some of them post their grievances on social media, tagging IRCTC support. This time, the passenger even questioned the vendor about the water bottle sold at Rs 20 in the train. The Railways responded to the post.

The passenger took to X and posted a video of the vendor selling ‘Rail Neer’ bottles at a higher price in the train

There have been complaints about selling ‘Rail Neer’ worth Rs 15 for Rs 20 in the train earlier also. But this time, when the passenger asked the vendor to return the money, he insisted the passenger to return the water bottle instead. The incident occurred on train number 12955 that runs between Mumbai Central and Jaipur. The video clip is now going viral on social media.

A person named Krishna Sharma posted this video on X and narrated his plight in the caption.

This video starts with a passenger sitting on the upper berth of the general coach asking the cost of the ‘Rail Neer’ water bottle, to which the vendor replies that it is 20 rupees. Hearing this, the passenger quotes the price written on the bottle, which says Rs 15. The passenger argues by asking, ‘But it only has 15 written on it! Why are you charging 20 rupees?’ The vendor does not answer and moves ahead.

When he registers the passenger’s question, he says,

‘Give it back.’

In response to this, the passenger says,

‘Why should I return it, it is the property of the railways, it is not yours.’

A user named @krishan05773888 posted this video on X and wrote,

Hello Indian railway.This video is to inform you that vendors who sells water bottle in train compartments naming “Rail neer” they are selling it for ₹20.The MRP is ₹15 and after argument the vendor asked me to return it instead of giving me change. Train12955

Railways has also responded to this viral video of selling Rail Neer worth Rs 15 for Rs 20 in the train. @IRCTCofficial commented on this post and wrote,

Matter has been viewed very seriously and a hefty penalty has been imposed on concerned service provider including disengaging of concerned staff.
