Many of us never actually believed in the existence of Aliens until Koi… Mil Gaya released. The movie showcasing Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta‘s presented an amazing story of friendship between a human and an alien. The one to win billion of hearts wasn’t the actor Hrithik Roshan but instead, the character of ‘Jadoo’ who turned out to be a household name and the majority of people still remember him fondly.
This film eventually became part of our lives and the majority of us must have watched it innumerable times. It has been 18 years the film was first released. The iconic character, ‘Jadoo’, in Koi… Mil Gaya played an important role in keeping the audience glued to the film.
Jadoo’s costumes were planned and designed in Australia by James Callner, Hrithik once stated in an interview.
There was quite a lot of debate about his facial features, like whether the eyes should be inspired by those of an animal or by those of a human. It took more than a year, to make the alien, ‘Jadoo’, for Rakesh Roshan’s film Koi… Mil Gaya.
The character was designed to have big brown eyes and was 3 feet in height.

The person who was behind the mask of ‘Jadoo’ was an actor named Indravadan Purohit, a dwarf who appeared in a lot of Bollywood films and TV shows like SAB TV’s favourite kid show Baal Veer where he played the role of “Dooba Dooba 2”.
He has acted in over 250 films so far, in six languages. Sadly, Indravadan passed away on September 28, 2014.
