In the midst of the increasing crisis between Russia and Ukraine, India refrained from voting on a UN General Assembly resolution condemning Russian aggression on Ukraine on March 2. According to the reports, this is India’s third abstention in less than a week on a UN resolution regarding the Russian-Ukraine issue.
The General Assembly was voting to reiterate its support to Ukraine’s territorial integrity, as well as to condemn Russian aggression against the nation “in the strongest terms.”

India’s stand was criticized by US senators, both Republicans and Democrats, for not using its vote against Russia.
From politicians to journalists, everyone is criticizing India for its stand. While everyone knows that Russia is such a good friend of India and that India will never speak or do something against Russia. Then why do India receive this kind of hate?
A total of 141 countries voted in favour of the resolution condemning Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, with five countries voting against it and 35 countries abstaining, including India.
The UNGA proposal was similar to one issued last Friday in the 15-nation Security Council, on which India abstained its vote. After permanent member Russia used its veto, the UNSC resolution obtained 11 votes.

In the wake of India’s repeated abstentions on resolutions criticizing the invasion of Ukraine, the Biden administration also called on the country to separate itself from Russia on Wednesday. Although India has urged for an end to this bloodshed, India is the only major US ally that has refused to publicly criticise Moscow.
Amid all this, there are many kinds of conversations going on Twitter and other social media platforms about voting. ‘Barrister’s horse,’ a Twitter handle, published a voting record that included India’s abstention, as well as Pakistan, China, and Bangladesh.
Alastair Stewart, a broadcaster on GB News, responded to the voting record by tweeting,
“Pretty predictable but India and Pakistan should hang their heads in shame and, henceforth, receive not a penny piece in aid from the UK.”

In a minute, his tweet went viral and faces backlashes. Many Indians came on his post’s comment section on Twitter to troll him for his insensitive comments and his low IQ.
One Twitter user Rajesh Singh reminds him of his country’s dwindling power by saying,
“In which world are you?? Uk used to be super power. Now it has no power. India don’t need any aid from uk.”

To Rajesh, he replied in such an arrogant manner that he made people more furious. He wrote,
“Send it back, then…”

With his reply, he basically asked to repay us that money which we got from his country as a help. But while saying this, he forgot how much his country has snatched and looted from our country during the British India era.
One Indian Twitter user, Abhishek Srivastava gives him a befitting reply to his comment. He shared a photo of Kohinoor with a caption,
“Keep the change..”

Alastair didn’t reply back. Basically, he is destroyed. He doesn’t have an answer to this. This reply once again established this fact that never ever mess up with an Indian and don’t estimate someone’s creativity. He or she might give you hard time on social media.
