After becoming viral, the health department intervened and raided the dhaba to look into the situation. The proprietor of the dhaba then apologized and explained the reality of how the paranthas were made. The footage in issue comes from a dhaba in Chandigarh’s Sector 22, which is a busy market.

Initially filmed by a food blogger and shared on social media, the video caught attention for its sensational title, leading to swift action by the health department. Upon inspection, it was determined that the claims of frying paranthas in diesel were unfounded.
What do Dhaba owners have to say about the viral claims of “Diesel Paratha”?
When addressing the issue, dhaba workers Bablu Malik and Channi Singh acknowledged that the video had gone viral but denied using diesel for cooking. They clarified that the deceptive title didn’t accurately represent their actual procedures and was only the product of the food blogger. They stressed that they are utilizing only edible oil in their cooking, putting their customers’ health and well-being first.

Channi Singh claimed that he became aware of the widely shared film on the internet that made such incorrect claims about his Dhaba. Additionally, he said that the blogger had removed the video and expressed regret to the viewers. Apart from denying the assertion, Channi explained that the Dhaba serves sanitary cuisine and cooks with only edible oil. He also stressed that langar is supplied with food by his Dhaba.
Bablu apologized for any confusion and made it clear that the video was meant just for fun. He gave the people confidence that their dhaba maintained high standards for food safety and cleanliness. He said,

A blogger had made that video just for fun. It is common sense that nobody would consume a paratha prepared in diesel nor is it cooked like that. I didn’t know that the video was going viral; I only learned about it yesterday. The blogger in question has deleted it and apologized to the people…We use only edible oil. We provide hygienic food to people here. We also supply langar from here…We don’t play with people’s lives.
