The user rightly pointed out the risks associated with packaging edible and chemical items together. He mentioned that Mosquito repellents contain toxic substances that should never come into direct contact with food. If leaked, they can contaminate the other items in the bag, posing a serious health risk to consumers.

In this case, pairing ice cream with a potentially leaky mosquito repellent could lead to contamination. Adding the book with the items added to the customer’s frustration, as it is sensitive to both moisture and chemical exposure.

The user wrote,

@letsblinkit this is unacceptable. You packed ice cream, a book, and mosquito repellent in one bag.

If the repellent leaked = health risk.
If the ice cream melted = book ruined.

Basic packaging care is missing.

Quick-commerce services should maintain basic packaging protocols

Apps like Blinkit, Zepto, and Instamart attempt to fulfill orders within minutes, but the quality control and basic packaging protocols are often not considered. As more consumers rely on these platforms daily, the need for standardized and safe packaging has become more urgent.

Many users across social media platforms have previously shared the same concern, sharing similar experiences where perishables were packed with household cleaning agents or personal care products without separation.

This incident may appear to be a small packaging mistake, but it raises larger questions about consumer safety, the training of delivery staff, and the prior verification of packing processes. As online delivery platforms are growing, when it comes to the health and trust of their customers, they must be vigilant.
