Zomato Responds After Customer Complains About Finding Chicken Pieces In Dal Makhni

Recently, Zomato has replied after a customer complained about finding chicken pieces in Dal Makhani which he ordered for his vegetarian mother.

As a vegetarian, I understand how difficult it can be to have faith that fast food restaurants will serve my preferred food. Additionally, this lack of trust peaks with the rapid rise of food delivery companies like Swiggy and Zomato. Actually, these services are really beneficial to us. With a few smartphone clicks, we can order our favorite food from our favorite restaurant whenever we want to dine.

But despite having so many merits, this service, like other services, is also criticized a lot due to the irresponsibility of some people. Sometimes the order is delivered ruined, sometimes it is sent incorrectly, and occasionally it never arrives. But the worst situation is when your order is delivered in such a wrong way that your entire consciousness is shaken. Something similar recently happened with one Zomato user whose recent order turned out to be the worst nightmare for him and his mother.

A Zomato user ordered veg Dal Makhani but got chicken instead

Neel Kashyap named author and columnist, recently took to X, formerly known as Twitter, about his worst food delivery experience. In his tweet, he mentioned how he ordered Dal Makhani, which is obviously vegetarian, from Zomato for his mother.

However, upon opening the order, he and his mother were shocked to see that their Dal Makhani had alleged pieces of chicken. To support his claim, he also shared the image of that dal makhani in which the alleged piece of chicken is clearly visible. In his tweet, he also mentioned he tried to contact the customer support of Zomato to lodge the complaint officially; however, the process is so complicated that he can’t even talk to a real person. He also tagged the official Twitter handle of the Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India, in his tweet. In his tweet, he wrote,

@zomatocare My mother is a vegeterian and I had ordered roti and dal makhani for her, guess what there were chicken pieces in it. And zomato support is so complicated I can’t even talk to a real person. Help @jagograhakjago

How did Zomato react to the incident?

Upon seeing the above-mentioned tweet, Zomato was quick to respond. In their reply, the food delivery service said that they deeply respect all dietary requirements and described the incident as “deeply upsetting.” In a typical Zomato reply, they also asked Neel for more information about his order. Zomato wrote,

Hi Neel, this is extremely upsetting for us as we deeply respect all dietary preferences. Please DM us your order ID so we can take this up with the restaurant partner immediately.

This is not the first time that Zomato has come under fire for providing subpar services to its customers. From claims of finding insects and foreign particles in food to exorbitantly charging for ordinary dishes, the food delivery giant has consistently been in the news for issues related to quality and service. Though the company tends to act as soon as possible on such incidents, only a few of the customers get a satisfactory response. Despite the fact that these kinds of incidents go viral every day, it seems that these food delivery services are not able to understand what is wrong with them. Until they introspect, these problems are not going to get their solutions.
