Quick commerce services have become a lifeline for many, offering fast and convenient deliveries for daily essentials. However, claiming they are completely reliable and free from discrepancies would be a mistake. Recently, a Blinkit customer shared on social media about receiving grapes with a weight discrepancy. The post quickly went viral, prompting Blinkit to respond.
Customer took to Reddit and shared how they encountered weight discrepancy in their order from Blinkit
A Blinkit user recently took to the social media platform Reddit to highlight an issue they faced with their order. The customer shared that they had ordered 600 grams of grapes from the quick commerce platform but received a packet that felt noticeably lighter. Curious about the weight difference, they decided to weigh the packet and discovered it was only 370 grams, including the packaging. Initially, the customer assumed it was a one-time error and decided to let it go.

“Ordered grapes from Blinkit a couple of weeks back and the packet received felt suspiciously lighter. Weighed it to realise it was only 370 gms. I let it go thinking of it as a one off error.”
However, the same issue occurred again just a few weeks later. This time, the customer ordered a half-kilogram (500 grams) packet of grapes but received only 395 grams, packaging included.
“To my surprise the same thing happened again yesterday. The half kg package of grapes weighed only 395gms (including the weight of packaging).”
Interestingly, the user shared that this wasn’t the only time they faced such discrepancies. They mentioned receiving open boxes of cat food with missing pouches and being delivered cheaper fruits and vegetables instead of what was ordered.
“We’ve had similar issues in the past with respect to both quantity and quality of what was delivered. (Received open cat food boxes with a few pouches missing, cheaper fruits n vegetables instead of the ones ordered, overpriced products etc.)”
This would prompt anyone to think of it as a scam and so was the case with this customer. All of this led the customer to believe that these issues were not accidental but part of a deliberate attempt to mislead customers. In their post, they urged others to be cautious, double-check their orders, and not trust Blinkit blindly.
