In a recent interview with journalist Shubhankar Mishra, veteran actor and TV host Anu Kapoor stirred massive controversy with his inappropriate remarks about actress Tamannaah Bhatia. During their chat, Kapoor mentioned having seen a clip of Tamannaah’s hit dance number Aaj Ki Raat. When the host casually asked if he liked the song or considered himself a fan of the actress, Kapoor replied,

“MashaAllah, kya doodhiya badan hai? (What a milky body!)”

His words, though seemingly intended as praise, immediately struck a nerve among audiences for being objectifying and disrespectful.

Following this, the host brought up Tamannaah’s own comment about how children fall asleep listening to her song Aaj Ki Raat. Instead of responding gracefully, Kapoor took the conversation to an even more distasteful level. He said,

“Kitne umar ke bachche so jaate hain? 70 saal ke umar ka bhi bachcha ho sakta hai na? Main hota toh poochta ke kitne umar ke so jaate hain. Angrezi mein bolte hain that he is 70 years old, woh 70 saal purana bachcha hai… and he is an 11-year-old buddha. (What age of children fall asleep? Even a 70-year-old can be called a child. If it were me, I’d ask how old the children are. In English, they say he is 70 years old, he’s a 70-year-old child… an 11-year-old old man.)”

This crude and unnecessary comment, targeting Tamannaah’s body, skin tone, and song quickly went viral, sparking a wave of backlash.
