Cab-hailing apps, such as Ola and Uber, have transformed Indians’ travel within cities, introducing comfort, security, and accessibility. However, the experience is not always smooth. We frequently heard complaints about sudden cancellations, abusive drivers, and fights over unfair fares. Depending on how drivers and passengers treat one another, some rides can be enjoyable, while others can become contentious.
There have been many complaints about unprofessional drivers on social media in recent years. Among them, some of such kinds of stories went viral on social media. However, not every experience is bad. Sometimes, an honest gesture in a small way can become the highlight. Recently, one such Uber driver from Mumbai did this. A customer booked a trip from Borivali to Thane. The driver politely informed the rider that he was unable to take the trip. His honesty amazed the customer and earned an unexpected 5-star review.

The post further said,
Got this for a ride from Borivali to Thane. Got another ride in no time.
So, the story started when a passenger had booked a ride from Borivali to Thane. However, within no time, the driver shockingly cancelled the ride. Now, in this ‘ghosting’ era, what follows is utterly refreshing. The driver sent a message to the customer, a note explaining why he was canceling the ride, rather than ignoring him.
In his note, the driver informs him that he has checked the fare and discovered that he will receive relatively little money for a trip that will take 1.5 hours to complete. He apologized sincerely at the end of the note. In the post, he also added the screenshot of a message he got from the driver that said,

Meanwhile, happenings like this remind us that respect and compassion are two-way streets. Driver-passenger altercations are usually the ones that splash on the front pages, but gestures of courtesy like this remind us of the softer side of daily rides. A bit of empathy from both sides can transform even a negative experience into a sweet memory. Instances like these are so uncommon that they indicate that niceness still travels and should be noted.
