Everyone wants a hike in their salary if one gets to have a Rs 20,000 – Rs 30,000 raise, it is supposed to be quite satisfactory. With a hike, a worker aims to save more and lead a better lifestyle. But it doesn’t always work that way because the fat paycheck often comes with its hidden costs.
Recently, a corporate worker who got a Rs 30,000 salary hike moved from Noida to Bengaluru. The worker soon regretted the decision and shared his regret on social media. The worker also shared his disappointment over the city’s infrastructure including roads, traffic conditions, and poor living conditions.

“After completing my graduation I worked in Noida for more than a year and I really loved the city because of the city’s infrastructure and it’s diversity and many more. I planned to switch company looking at opportunities only in NCR at first but later I realized that I am losing many opportunities because of filtering the region. Later I shifted and moved to Bangalore four months ago for a 30k/month hike compared to my previous compensation”
The worker started regretting his decision just after four months of living in Bengaluru. He pointed out the cultural differences between North and South India. According to him, it is observable in Bengaluru’s daily life. The user mentioned that Noida offered better infrastructure and diversity, but Bengaluru felt overcrowded and chaotic. He added,
“Now here in Bangalore, the city is dirty, not organised, had bad roads, worst traffic, bad water, less private space per individual and on top of all that the north vs south thing can be seen every day. Never in Noida I found dense populated places, Bangalore is completely opposite to that. I really regret moving out of Noida”
