8-YO Girl Lies About Delivery Guy Forcefully Taking Her To Terrace, Locals Beat Him Up

It is not uncommon that kids often lie to cover up their tracks without putting much thought into the consequences. If kids feel threatened they will point their fingers at anyone whether guilty or not. Recently, a similar case happened in Bangalore where an 8-year-old lied, landing the delivery agent in hot water with her parents.

An 8-year-old girl falsely accused a delivery agent of forcefully taking her to the terrace

On 12th June, around 9:40 a.m. a couple found their 8-year-old daughter missing. After having returned from dropping off their 5-year-old son at his school, the couple was shocked to find their daughter missing and the door locked from the outside.

They started looking for their daughter everywhere and soon their neighbours joined them too. Thirty minutes later, one of the neighbours spotted the kid on the terrace on her own.

When questioned, the 8-year-old said,

“A food delivery agent rang the doorbell. When I opened the door, he dragged me to the terrace. I bit his hand to free myself”

Thereafter, the security guards in the building were alerted to shut the exits for the remaining delivery agents in the building. When the girl was asked to identify the guy, the 8-year-old pointed at a random delivery agent. Soon, the guy was beaten up and thrashed by the couple, neighbours, and security. Then, they proceeded to lock him up in the spare room of the security personnel. Everyone turned a deaf hear to the pleas of the innocent guy.

Bengaluru police found out the kid had been lying after checking the CCTV footage

The following day, Bengaluru police collected the CCTV footage from the seventh floor and found that unfortunately, the camera didn’t cover the steps to the terrace. Later on, they found a CCTV installed next to the apartment in a women’s PG. They were shocked to find out that the girl went up the terrace on her own accord without anyone accompanying her.

The police said,

“As we scanned the footage, we were shocked to see the girl walking up to the terrace alone and playing for some time. Her parents were shocked too when we showed them the footage.”

After questioning further the girl said,

“I was scared that my parents would beat me up for playing during class hours”

The delivery agent was advised to file a complaint by the police

The couple apologized to the delivery guy for what they did. The man was advised to file a complaint against them by the police but he refrained from doing so.

He said,

“Soon, I will be moving back permanently with my wife and daughter to my home state of Assam. Filing a complaint here means visiting the city for further legal formalities and court trials, which I cannot afford”
