The Cheltenham Festival 2023 is just around the corner, so now is the time to get to know the best horses that will be lining up at jump racing’s biggest meeting. There are 28 races up for decision across four days of action, so picking potential winners of the most coveted prizes in the sport is not an easy task, even for those who consider themselves to be experts in the field.

Some horses stand out more than others as being potentially unbeatable in their respective races, some look like being vulnerable to equally talented rivals, and others are considered to have very little chance of reaching the world-famous winner’s enclosure at Cheltenham.

Constitution Hill

There is one horse on the lips of every supporter of jump racing at the moment, and that is the superstar hurdler Constitution Hill. The six-year-old is the heavy favorite for the Champion Hurdle with odds of 1/3 in online horse betting for the festival. Unbeaten in his five starts to date, the Nicky Henderson-trained superstar lit up the festival 12 months ago with a blistering performance in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle. Since then he has gone on to achieve even greater things, has stamped his name as the best racehorse in training today, and looks sure to become one of the greatest of all time if he continues in the same vein.

Don’t miss Constitution Hill in the Champion Hurdle on day one of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival.

Galopin Des Champs

What Constitution Hill is to the hurdling sphere of jump racing, Galopin Des Champs is the equivalent in the chasing division. The beautiful Irish-trained horse is breathtaking to see in full flow and promises to shine bright in this year’s Cheltenham Gold Cup.

The Gold Cup is the pinnacle of jump racing and has been won in the past by some of the greatest horses to ever grace the turf. It is far from beyond the realms of possibility that Galopin Des Champs will add his name to this list of legends in the future, and that will start with victory in this year’s festival showpiece.

Trained by the most successful trainer in Cheltenham history, Willie Mullins, Galopin Des Champs is another not to be missed as he lines up in the feature race on the final day of festival action in 2023.

Constitution Hill and Galopin Des Champs might be the stand-out names this year, but there are other members of the equine excellence group that are also likely to light up the week. These include Honeysuckle, Shiskin, Lossiemouth, and Mighty Potter, to name just a few.

To see these horses and many more, make sure to tune in to Cheltenham 2023 which starts on Tuesday 14th March.
