Actress Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal Leaves ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ Accusing Producer Asit Modi Of Sexual Harassment!

However, in recent times, the cast of TMKOC has been leaving the show for various reasons. And the most recent entry is actress Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal. However, her exit has also come with huge controversy, as she leveled very serious charges against the show’s creator, Asit Kumar Modi.

Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal alleges Asit Modi sexually assaulted her

Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, an actress well known for playing Roshan Singh Sodhi on the hit television program Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has lately raised major accusations against the program’s producers. She has reported producer Asit Kumar Modi, project director Sohail Ramani, and executive producer Jatin Bajaj for allegedly indulging in sexual harassment at work.

After experiencing the alleged maltreatment, Jennifer reportedly chose to leave the program. She stopped working for “TMKOC” two months ago on March 7. In a conversation with TOI, she revealed,

Yes, I’ve left the show. It is right that I shot my last episode of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah on March 6 this year. I had to leave the sets as I was subjected to humiliation and insult at the hands of Mr Sohil Ramani and the other executive producer Jatin Bajaj.

Describing her last day on the set, Jennifer stated,

It was March 7, my marriage anniversary and Holi when the incident happened. I had informed in advance that I want a half day since my daughter really looks forward to Holi. I was asked to get off the sets four times by Sohail Ramani and the executive producer tried to stop my car by standing behind it and was not allowing me to leave the sets.

She added,

I told them I worked on the show for 15 years and they couldn’t forcefully stop me and while I was leaving Sohil threatened me. I have filed a case of sexual harassment against Asit Kumarr Modi, Sohail Ramani and Jatin Bajaj.

In addition, Jennifer said that she was treated differently on the sets than her male co-stars, describing the atmosphere as “male chauvinistic.” She stated:

That’s when I retaliated and Sohail spoke to me rudely asking me to get out almost four times. Then the creative person Jatin tried to stop my car. All this is recorded in the CCTV footage. This happened on March 7, I thought they would call me. But on March 24 Sohil sent me a notice that I left the shoot and they are losing money. This was ulta chor Kotwal ko Dante. They wanted to scare me.

Jennifer revealed that she complained to the producers about the alleged harassment on April 4 and that she later got a response that she was trying to extort money. She made the decision to ask for a public apology and sought legal counsel.

On April 8, Jennifer notified the government officials through letter and registered mail, as well as Asit Modi, Sohil Ramani, and Jatin Bajaj. Although she has not received a response, she believes the matter is being looked into and investigated.

She considers everyone involved in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah production to be engaged in “bonded labor.” She concluded,

I have given my 15 years to the show and if I am treated like this on the set so just imagine what they must be doing to the newcomers of junior artists.

With this, Jennifer has joined the list of her “TMKOC” co-stars who have left the long-running program, along with Shailesh Lodha, Disha Vakani, and Gurucharan Singh. While others don’t make much noise, Shailesh Lodha’s exit also made lots of headlines and sparked various kinds of rumors against Asit Modi. However, it seems that the accusations leveled by Jennifer Mistry are going to be huge, given the serious charges leveled by her.
