Shailesh Lodha who played the role of Taarak Mehta in the series had to sue the showrunner, Asit Modi, over non-payment of dues. The actor quit the show in April 2022.

This has made the headlines very recently and undoubtedly shocked a lot of people. She played the role of Roshan Singh Sodhi in the show. In an exclusive interview with India Today, she told that she had to quit the show after being associated with it for 15 years. Jennifer blamed the producer Asit Modi, project head Sohail Ramani, and executive producer Jatin Bajaj for being the forces that compelled her to leave the show.
