Tanuja Samarth, well known as Tanuja was born on 23 September 1943 is an Indian film actor, who mainly works in the Hindi film industry. Part of the Mukherjee-Samarth family, she is the daughter of actresses Shobhna Samarth and producer Kumarsen Samarth. Tanuja got married to a filmmaker named Shomu Mukherjee, and together they have two daughters, namely Kajol and Tanisha.
But many of us know Tanuja Mukherjee merely as the mother of Kajol and Tanisha, but the beautiful actress has her own image and personality she has built with her movies such as Haathi Mere Saathi, Jewel Thief, Anubhav and Baharen Phir Bhi Aayengi. She has also received two Filmfare awards for her phenomenal work. She has expanded her arenas outside the Hindi cinema as well, she has also done an appropriate amount of work in Gujarati, Marathi and Bengali films.
Due to the presence of her artistically oriented family, Tanuja was always a strong and independent woman ready to make an imprint while she was involved with Bollywood, though she has continued to show up in films on a whim, her recent work was when she played the character of a widow in the Marathi film Pitruroon, directed by Nitish Bharadwaj.
